Believeland Buckeye of the Month (September) - TreVeyon Henderson

2023 Ohio State University

The home run hitter that dazzled Buckeye nation as a Freshman has returned to the field this year after struggling through last season with an injury. Through the first four games of the season he has almost eclipsed his rushing touchdown from a season ago and has chance to make this his best season ever on the ground. In 2021, Henderson ran for 1,248 yards and 15 touchdowns, now here in 2023 in just four games Henderson has put up 295 yards and 5 touchdowns while sharing the backfield with two other running backs. If his usage goes up and we expect it will after a tremendous start to the season, his 2021 rushing total will be left in the dust. TreVeyon Henderson has accounted for 22% of Ohio State's total points this season and has been a focal point of the Buckeye offense. With non-conference games out of the way and a tough Big Ten slate ahead of the Buckeyes, Henderson's presence in the backfield is more important than ever and he will need to continue to build on his great start to lead the Buckeyes back to Indy and beyond.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Jayden Fielding - The Buckeyes kicker has also accounted for 22% of the teams points in the first month of play and thus far has not missed a single PAT or field goal.

  • Marvin Harrison Jr. - He is currently averaging nearly 20 yards per reception and has accounted for 3 touchdowns on the season while hauling in over 300 yards in receiving in just four games.
