Berkshire Badgers 2023 Football

Coming fresh off a 7-4 season along with a CVC Championship, the Berkshire Badgers are aiming to repeat. They're returning some key starters, so for Berkshire the stage is set. They've made playoffs the past couple of season, just unable to get over the hump of Week 11. The Badgers have their eyes set on Week 1 as the Chagrin Falls Tigers visit Great Lakes Cheese Stadium as Berkshire will start the season at home for the first time since 2020, this will also be their first home opener in the new stadium. Berkshire's 3-Week homestand following Chagrin Falls sees them host the Coventry Comets and Cuyahoga Heights RedWolves. Meanwhile the Edison Chargers await the visiting Badgers in Week 4. Another two-week stint at home as the Badgers welcome Trinity in Week 5. Just a week later it becomes time to renew the Kinsman Cup Rivalry between the Cardinal Huskies and Berkshire Badgers. This also being the start of CVC matchups. Berkshire pays a visit to the Kirtland Hornets in Week 7 before they head off to Mantua to face the Crestwood Red Devils. The final game to be played at Great Lakes Cheese Stadium comes in Week 9 as the Mustangs of Grand Valley come galloping in on Friday the 13th. The regular season finale takes the Badgers to Jack Britt Memorial Stadium to square off with the Harvey Red Raiders.

I talked to Seniors Miles Miller, Jack Hastings and Mason Mendolera about the lessons they've learned and how it's going to set them up for success in their last season. Jack and Miles shared the things that excite them the most about their senior years, and Mason shared his goals for the team with me.

I spoke with junior Justin Phillips about his experience from last season as a sophomore, along with the building blocks he's looking to lay down leading into his senior year.

Junior Jason Brent talked with me about his experience from last year and how it's prepared him for this season. I asked him about his position change from Center to Left Guard this season and what the transition has been like.

Badgers Head Coach Josh DeWeese and I talked about what he's looking forward to this season, as well as taking the next step in the playoffs.

It all gets started this Friday as Chagrin Falls comes to town!
