Canton, OH - On the eve of the North Division Championship game at Tom Benson Stadium in Canton, Ohio, the USFL and Hall of Fame Village announced that Canton will once again be a host city for the league in the spring of 2024.
Fans interested in securing their spot for the 2024 season can do so with a deposit of $24, in honor of the 2024 season. It has not been announced which teams will call Canton their home for the regular season next spring. This season, the first that saw Canton serve as a Host Hub, featured the Pittsburgh Maulers and New Jersey Generals calling Canton home.
Maulers and Generals Well Represented in All-USFL Squads
The Pittsburgh Maulers and New Jersey Generals of the Canton Hub were well represented when the USFL announced their All-League teams earlier this week. Representing on the offensive side of the ball was Generals Center Jake Lacina, along with fellow offensive lineman, Guard Calvin Ashley.
It should be no surprise to those who have followed the Canton Hub teams that it is the defensive and special teams squads that see the most representation. For the Maulers, linebacker Kyahva Tezino, Cornerback Mark Gilbert, and Safety Arnold Tarpley III were the honorees on the defensive side of the ball. Representing New Jersey was Defensive Tackle Toby Johnson, as well as Cornerback DJ Daniel.
The specialists honored were both return men for the Maulers, Josh Simmons as the Kick Returner and Isiah Hennie as the punt returner.
The League will announce Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Year early next week after the Divisional Round of the playoffs this weekend. League MVP and Sportsman of the Year will be announced in Canton next Friday before the League Championship on July 1 at 8pm from Tom Benson Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
