The Lake County Captains had a good week at Classic Park as they won a six game series, 4-2, over the Beloit Sky Carp.
In addition, it was the Northeast Ohio debut of Travis Bazzana, the number one overall MLB draft pick of the Cleveland Guardians.

The six game series started with the Captains winning the first two games.
In the first game of the series, the Captains defeated the Sky Carp 17-5.
Bazzana had an excellent debut in his first game at Classic Park. In fact, Bazzana was 2-4 with 2 base on balls.

In the fifth inning, Bazzana hit a grand slam home run. Also, in the 17-5 victory, Jake Fox was 3-5 with a home run and 2 RBI. Additionally, Angel Genoa was 3-5 with a home run and 4 RBI.
On Wednesday in the second game of the series, the Captains defeated the Sky Carp, 5-4.
In a much low scoring game, the Captains scored 4 runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 4-1 lead. Beloit then tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fourth inning.
Tyresse Turner then got the game winning RBI on a base hit to center field to give the Captains a 5-4 victory.
After Beloit took the third game of the series, 3-2, the Captains won games four and five.
In game four, the Captains defeated the Sky Carps, 3-1, behind the excellent pitching of Matt “Tugboat” Wilkinson.
Wilkinson threw six innings, giving up only one run on two hits and striking out seven.
The Captains then followed up their game four victory with a 9-7 defeat of the Sky Carp in game five.
In the Captains 9-7 victory, Tyresse Turner led the team with three hits.
In the final game of the series, a 4-3 loss to the Sky Carp, Turner also led the Captains again with another three hit performance.

The Captains will now travel to Dayton for a six games series with the Dragons.
