Flashes Fall to Fresno State 53-10

Fresno, CA- The Kent State Golden Flashes wrapped up the non-conference portion of their 2023 football schedule on the West Coast Saturday night as they traveled to face the Mountain West's Fresno State Bulldogs. Here are a few highlights from the affair.

'X' Finds the End Zone

While Gavin Garcia is the starting running back, Head Coach Kenni Burns knows it takes more than one to keep the rushers fresh, so for the Flashes, it's more of a three-headed monster from the tailback position. Following Garcia on the depth chart is Graduate Student Xavier Williams, who found pay dirt with 5:48 left in the opening quarter to cap off a 7-play, 75-yard drive with the 18-yard scamper.

Glass is Half-full

Junior kicker Andrew Glass split the uprights on a 45-yard boot to cap off the Flashes longest offensive drive of the evening, a 13-play drive that started at the Fresno State 28-yard line. For the year thus far, Glass is 6-7 on FG attempts with his longest being a 48-yarder in week 2 against Arkansas.

Return of the MAC

Conference play kicks off next Saturday from Dix Stadium, as the Flashes welcome the Miami (OH) Redhawks to town. Kick-off is set for 2:30 PM. Believeland Media will bring you the coverage from the stadium, presented by Prime Time Sports.
