Garfield G-MEN tame the Huskies 75-43 on opening night behind 27 points from Gedeon

GARRETTSVILLE, OH- The Garfield G-MEN (0-0) hosted the Cardinal Huskies (0-1) on Monday night in the season opener for the home squad. Cardinal was coming off an opening night loss to Grand Valley. It was a battle of two teams looking to bounce back from down seasons a year ago. The G-MEN would come up big in game one taking this one 75-43.

Garfield came out and scored the first nine points of the game after a Brandyn Bogucki three ball forced a Huskies timeout just three minutes into the game trailing 9-0. The G-MEN would extend the run to 11-0 before Dominic Naples connected from deep for the Huskies to end the run. Another three ball for Cardinal, this one by Carter Sindelar, pulled them to within seven. Sindelar would keep it at a seven point deficit hitting another three ball to end the quarter. Garfield led 20-13. Preston Gedeon got off to a hot start scoring 11 of the G-MEN 20 opening quarter points.
