WINDHAM, OH- It was a packed house at Marty Hill Court in Windham on Friday night as the Bombers hosted their long time rival Garfield G-MEN. The Bombers were looking to snap a four game losing streak while the G-MEN were trying to stop a three game skid. Both student sections were primed and ready to go for this rivalry matchup.
Windham got off to a fast start scoring the first five points of the game by guard Carlos Bruton. Garfield responded with a 10-0 run with seven of those coming from guard Preston Gedeon. They led 10-5 midway through the first quarter. The teams would go back and forth the rest of the quarter with Garfield taking a 19-12 lead after one. Bruton and Gedeon each posted 9 first quarter points.

After a Cade Rock bucket inside for the G-MEN to start quarter two, Windham scored five straight to cut the deficit to four at 21-17. Garfield would respond with a 9-0 run led by 7 points from Gedeon to push the lead out to 30-17. Frustration started to set in a bit for the Bombers as Jake Collins was whistled for a technical foul after slapping the floor with both hands in response to a foul call against him. Garfield would take their biggest lead of the game at 39-21 after a Gedeon bucket. Windham would score the final four points of the half and trailed 39-25 at the half. Gedeon led all scorers with 19 first half points.

The third quarter would be the difference in the game. After a Preston Gedeon three ball put Garfield up by 18, the Bombers scored five straight to cut in to 13 at 45-32. The G-MEN would then go on a big 12-2 run giving them a 57-34 lead. It was a run that essentially put the game out of reach. Garfield outscored Windham 22-8 in the quarter to take a commanding 61-37 lead into the final quarter.
The Bombers were never able to get the deficit under 22 points in the fourth quarter with the G-MEN leading by as many as 28. Both teams emptied their benches with around four minutes to play. The G-MEN pulled out a big road win 79-51.
Preston Gedeon had a stellar game for the G-MEN dropping 33 points. Former Bomber Aidan Hill was solid against his former team with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Carlos Bruton had a nice game in the loss with 29 points.
Garfield will travel to Lakeview on Tuesday for their Sectional Semi-final while the Bombers will host Grand Valley.
