We are a week plus into the MiLB season and all eyes are on some of the big name prospects in the Guardians organization.
Most of the 2021 draft class have made their debuts over this first week of the season. There is much to look forward to with all of the talent that the Guardians have throughout their minor league system. We start our weekly in season weekly recaps of the Affiliates and prospects.
Columbus Clippers (AAA)
The Clippers are riding an 8-game winning streak with a 9-3 overall record. They are averaging 6.2 runs per game so far on the young season paced by two Guardians 40-man roster players in Richie Palacios and Gabriel Arias.

Akron Rubberducks (AA)
The defending AA Northeast League Champions are off to a 5-4 start. After losing their first two games of the season Akron has won four of the last six. They boast one of the top starting rotations in all of MiLB lead by top pitching prospect Daniel Espino and Logan T. Allen who went 9-0 between Lake County & Akron in 2021S. They were averaging only 2.8 runs per game before scoring 11 runs in game one of their doubleheader on Saturday.

Lake County Captains (High-A)
The Captains are off to a 4-5 start to the season. Their pitching staff is lead by 2021 1st round pick Gavin Williams and 2nd round pick Doug Nikhazy. Offensively Joe Naranjo has been on fire and had a recent 2 homer, 6 RBI game vs Dayton on 4/14.

The Hillcats are off to a tough 3-5 start but have won three of their last four games. Their roster consists of several 2021 Guardians draft picks. along with standout players from the 2021 Arizona Complex League.
