Kenston & Chardon go "Crazy for a Cure"; Bombers continue to soar with 3-0 win

CHARDON OH- On Thursday it was the final regular season matchup between a pair of WRC foes as the (6-10, 2-5 CONF) Chardon Hilltoppers hosted the (14-4, 7-0 CONF) Kenston Bombers who were looking for their 10th consecutive win. During the pre-match festivities both teams shared a moment together, taking a group picture next to the "Crazy for a Cure" sign in the Barn at Chardon High School. (SEE END OF RECAP FOR PICTURE)

Skylar Toth kicked off set one with a kill for the Hilltoppers. Mallorie Flick came up with a block of Avari Amstutz, as Jenna Hendricks picked up her first kill. Hendricks followed it up by going off the block for another first set kill.

Despite all of that, the Kenston Bombers held a 19-15 lead over Chardon as Sadie Poudevigne added the kill to force a Hilltopper timeout. Moments later Chardon was called for a net infraction to give the Bombers a 25-16 set one win.

Emma Hart started the Bombers off on the attack with a kill. Poudevigne followed up with a kill of her own but Madison Kilpeck served up back-to-back aces for Chardon. A dominating 2nd set for Kenston continued, as Peyeton Pampush and Riley Rosneck both added kills and the Bombers raced out to a 19-11 lead.

Despite the efforts from Chardon, they were unable to overcome the 8 point deficit, and Pampush capped off set 2 with a kill.

Chardon opened set 3 with an error to put the Bombers on top. Rosneck lead her team in kills on the night, and she picked up a pair on the attack in set 3. Sadie Poudevigne continued a solid offensive night, as she went off the block for a kill and Chardon called a timeout trailing 17-10.

After the timeout, Rosneck continued a strong 3rd set, sneaking one into the corner for a kill.

Skylar Toth tried to find the corner herself but missed it, Poudevigne added her 7th kill of the night as Peyeton Pampush ended the night with her 8th kill.

Peyeton Pampush: 8 kills - 1 ace - 2 block

Sadie Poudevigne: 7 kills
