Medina girls get revenge against Brunswick with 52-36 win



Medina, Ohio - On Friday night Medina Bees girls team took on the Brunswick Blue Devils. For Medina, they lost the last matchup in Brunswick 53-40. Medina’s record was 10-7 coming into this game while Brunswick was 15-2.


Brunswick won the tip, but traveled on their first possession. However on their second possession Journey Hildebrand hit a floater getting the first points of the contest.


Brunswick was up 6-2 for a while, but then Medina went on a 10-0 run and took a 12-6 lead. The score at the end of the first was 12-9 Medina.



To start the next quarter, both sides couldn’t really get any offense going for a while missing shots and getting turnovers. However Olivia Klanac hit a mean step-back 3-pointer and put Medina up by four.


Medina had an eight point lead in the second, but Brunswick soon after tied the game back up. Brunswick held a 24-23 lead at the half.



To start the second half, Kate Bobey hit a triple and took Brunswick’s lead away with the shot. Medina’s offense and defense were overwhelming, getting stops and buckets. Medina went up by nine in the third with a lot of transition buckets.


Medina’s offense also consisted of getting to the rim, and also getting foul calls. Bobey hit a layup to end the third and Medina was up 41-32.



In the fourth quarter Medina’s offense kept rolling, while Brunswick struggled. For all of this quarter it looked like Medina would take this win and that’s exactly what they did putting away a 52-36 win.


Kate Bobey got 19 points for Medina leading the charge. For Brunswick, Lea Holmes scored 13 but that was not enough to get a victory.
