Eight Portage County schools have qualified for the Ohio High School Football Playoffs that begin next Friday (10/28). Rounds one and two will be played on the higher seeded teams home field. Here are the matchups for round one.

Division 3 - Region 9:

#10 Aurora Greenmen (7-3) at #7 CVCA Royals (7-3)

Aurora closed out the regular season with a week 10 win over Revere 42-7. That broke a two game losing streak after they had won five straight. Their biggest win came on September 23rd against a very good Tallmadge team that finished with 8 wins. They unfortunately lost senior QB Alex Moore to a knee injury in week 8 vs Barberton.

Division 4 - Region 13:

#12 Streetsboro Rockets (6-4) at #5 Canal Fulton Northwest Indians (7-3)

Streetsboro and their high powered offense ended their regular season with a solid 63-35 win over Coventry. The Rockets averaged 35.5 points per game. Standout running back Preston Hopperton is healthy after being banged up a bit throughout the regular season. He finished with 321 total yards and 5 touchdowns in the win over Coventry.

Division 4 - Region 13:

#16 Field Falcons (4-6) at #1 West Branch Warriors (9-1)

Field had an up and down regular season that started with a closely contested 27-26 loss to a Mogadore team that went 9-0. They ended the regular season with tough losses to a couple solid teams in Norton and Woodridge. It doesn't get any easier in Week 11 with West Branch but coach Matt Furino will have his boys ready to roll. Field is lead by 1,000 yard RB Drexel McAmis and QB Braxton Baumberger who also excelled on the defensive side of the ball with 55 tackles and 4 interceptions.

Division 5 - Region 17:

#9 Garfield G-MEN (8-2) at #8 Conneaut Spartans (8-2)

Garfield ended the regular season with a 56-27 home win over Liberty. The G-MEN boast a single wing running attack lead by Jesse Grace, Keegan Sell, Carter Bates, Vinnie Garndizio and Deacon Sommer who combined to rush for over 2,400 yards this season behind a rock solid offensive line. Garfield averaged 33.6 points per game. Their only two losses came to Warren JFK and Brookfield who both finished 9-1.

Division 6 - Region 21:

#15 Southeast Pirates (4-5) at #2 Mogadore Wildcats (9-0)

Southeast will have some revenge on their minds in week 11 as they face a Mogadore team that handed them a 47-6 home loss in week 8. The Pirates ended the regular season with 3 straight losses after previously winning 4 straight. They are lead by dual threat QB Randy Williams.

The Wildcats completed an impressive 9-0 season with a PTC Championship clinching 34-14 win over Rootstown. Mogadore runs an efficient offense lead by QB Zeke Cameron and do it all standout Mason Williams who has been an absolute menace on both sides of the ball this season. They averaged 31.2 points and allowed only 14.0 point per game this season.

Division 6 - Region 21:

#9 United Golden Eagles (8-2) at #8 Rootstown Rovers (7-3)

Rootstown is coming off a solid regular season that saw them play for the PTC Championship in Week 10. The Rovers are lead by standout RB Cody Coontz who had an incredible regular season rushing for over 2,100 yards.

Division 6 - Region 25:

#14 Windham Bombers (4-5) at #3 Danville Blue Devils (8-2)

The Bombers wrapped up the regular season with a playoff clinching 39-8 home win over North Baltimore on Senior Night. Windham is lead by senior QB Chase Eye who combined for nearly 2,000 yards rushing and passing this season.
