The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees Boys Basketball Team hosted the Solon Comets in their home opener on Tuesday night.
Led by seniors, Luke Skaljac and Junior Kambomba, the Bees defeated the Comets, 79-55.

After the contest, Skaljac talked about the victory.
“It was a great team effort, Junior and Brady obviously doing what they do and then getting the rest of the team involved (was great),” said Skaljac.
“I thought I did a good job of making the right play everytime, whether that's to shoot, get my teammates involved, and get to the rim. “
“It was a great team effort today.”
Added Coach Mehalik, “I am proud of our guys, we had a tough one Friday night, and a tremendous two days of practice.”
“(Tonight) we made some shots and our energy was outstanding.”
And right from the opening tip, the Bees showed that great energy as they were off and running, taking a 23-13 first quarter lead.
The Bees continued to push the pace in the second quarter as they outscored the Comets 21-17 to take a 44-30 lead into halftime.

In the first half, the Bees were led by Kambomba who connected on five 3's and had 17 points in the half.
“My teammates gave me the ball when I got hot,” said Kambomba.
In the second half, the Bees outscored the Comets 35-25, to make the final score 79-55.
Leading the Bees for the game were Luke Skaljac (20 points), Junior Kambomba (19), and Brady Ganley (14).
Brady Ganley had 14 points in the victory over the Comets.

Also contributing to the Bees offense was Luke Reasor (8), Steven Skaljac (7), Colin Seibert (5), Rocco Dean (4), and Ben Mehendale (2).
Leading the Solon Comets was Luke Kormuth with 21 points.

Also leading the Comets offensively were Cam Brown (15 points), Noah Morgan (7), Mekhi Ali (5), Avery Perryman (3), Kameron Lumpkin (2), and Xavier Dose (2).
With the Victory the Bees move to 3-0 on the season and next face Twinsburg on Friday.
Solon will next face Wadsworth on Friday night.
