The start of the Cleveland Browns 2021 season had us as fans in high hopes of making the playoffs this year. Unfortunately due to the Coronavirus, Browns’ RB’s Nick Chubb and Demetric Felton, punter Jamie Gillan, LB Anthony Walker and TE David Njoku have all spent time on the COVID list. There have also been many injuries throughout the season that have made things difficult. It may feel like we’ve been held back on the Cleveland Browns offense, defense, or special teams due to the virus and injuries, but there is still hope for the Cleveland Browns and as fans the best we can do right now is look forward to a big home game vs Baltimore and a potential playoff berth.
Even though this season has been disappointing we can be thankful for players like DE Myles Garrett and guard Joel Bitonio who are pro bowler players and great leaders of the team. Both of them should be looking at another Pro Bowl selection in 2021. You can place your ballot and help get them to the Pro Bowl at NFL.com/Pro-BowlVote which will be available through December 16.
The challenges during this season should not stop the team from executing on offense, defense, or even special teams due to the depth of the roster that GM Andrew Berry has put in place. As Browns fans we stay hopeful that they can come out of the bye week and look better as a team both on offense and defense than they have earlier this season. The coaches expect Baker Mayfield to play his best football in these final games of the season. Can the team knock off the Ravens and go on a run these final 5 games to get into the playoffs?
The Cleveland Browns playoff chances are low but there is still life as they still have a 22% chance of making the playoffs per the New York Times. This team still has great potential to finish this season strong and get into the postseason. The way the 2021 season has gone anyone who makes the playoffs will have a chance to make the Super Bowl. All is not lost but another slip up against the Ravens could end all hope for 2021.
