The Cougars explosive offensive performance runs past the Green Wave in Senior Night victory

Mentor OH- Live from Jerome T. Osborne Stadium, the (0-1) Lake Catholic Cougars hosted their Senior Night against (0-1) Holy Name Green Wave on Saturday evening.

Frankie Trinetti would trot out his offense for the games first possession. Josh Styles got his big night started off early with a big run on the games 2nd play. A carry that would go for 36-yards marched the Cougars inside the 50. Trinetti's completion to Ace Peterlin would quickly be overshadowed as the next pass thrown by the Cougar QB would be picked. William Dix Jr. intercepts Trinetti's pass and takes it 71-yards to the house for a pick-six.

With the ball inside the 5-yard line, Ace Peterlin would take the handoff from Trinetti on the jet sweep, following his blockers into the end zone for the touchdown.

The point-after try was failed, the Green Wave would give up a touchdown defensively but still have a one-point lead (7-6) as their offense would take the field for the first time of the game. Andrew Cole and the Namers would be unable to come up with a first down, forced into a three-&-out with a punt to come to start the 2nd quarter. Holy Name leads 7-6.

William Dix's punt would be a short one, giving Lake Catholic the ball from the Namer 44-yard line. Before Holy Name knew it the Cougars would take the lead. Frankie Trinetti dialed up Cross Nimmo for a quick strike of 43-yards for the touchdown. Two-point conversion attempt would fail, leaving Lake Catholic with a 5-point lead at 12-7. The Green Wave possession would not last long as another punt would give the Cougars possession from the Holy Name 34-yard line. The short field would come in handy, in the blink of an eye Josh Styles 5-yard touchdown run would put Lake Catholic up by 11. The extra-point would said through the uprights to give Lake a 19-7 advantage.

The next Holy Name drive would end in the end zone. A QB sneak by Cole would turn into a 30-yard burst to put the Namers down inside the Cougar 40-yard line. On 3rd & 11 Andrew Cole connected with Blake Feliciano for a 36-yard strike for the score.

With the score sitting at 19-13 in favor of the Cougars, Trinetti would lead yet another scoring drive. Styles 7-yard run for a first down would set up Lake Catholic from the Namer 31-yard line. Frankie dialed up Cross Nimmo once again, this time from 31-yards out for the touchdown. Once again a failed extra-point, score sitting at 25-13. The Cougars would take the 12-point advantage into halftime.

The Green Wave would begin with possession, a strong drive led by a pair of 20-yard carries for Will Dix Jr. would eventually come to a screeching hault. Following a successful extra-point the Cougars lead had ballooned up to 19. Andrew Cole orchestrated another Holy Name scoring drive. His 15-yard completion ends in the hands of Blake Feliciano for his second touchdown of the night.

Lake Catholic's lead had been cut down to 12 once again, score sitting at 32-20. Josh Styles and DJ Sears would lead another drive. The 3rd quarter would come to an end, Cougars with possession from the Namer 34-yard line. 32-20 Lake Catholic Cougars
