Cleveland, OH - On Wednesday night the Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings hosted the Kirtland Hornets in their first playoff game of the year.

To start the game Kirtland was doing good, getting off the a quick 6-2 lead off the back of small forward Brynn Bradac scoring four points in the first and helping her team put up 11 points.

Things didn't start so smoothly for the Vikings, as they were only able to put up four points in the first quarter, and three of them came from shooting guard Kya Bell making the score 11-4.

Entering the second both teams were looking to jumpstart their offense and that's exactly what happened as Bradac led her team with 6 of their15 points second quarter points.

The Vikings looked like a completely different team offensively in this quarter, putting up 13 points and point guard Elizabeth Dunmire scored four points also creating turnovers for her team helping them stay in arms reach at 26-17.

Coming out of halftime both teams looked the same, as Kirtland's Bradac was able to put up four points of her own with the team scoring 11 points.

For the Vikings, Keemari Lacey was able to drain a pair of three pointers helping her team stay in the game. They didn't play much defense as the game stayed at a nine point deficit, 37-28.

Entering the final quarter the Vikings needed something to go their way, but unfortunately for them they continued to struggle on defense and they were only able to put up 10 points putting their total at 38.

On the other side of the ball the Hornets never stopped playing hard, as they were able to put up 15 points yet again. Their defense was creating turnovers and they rolled by the Vikings for a 52-38 win.

MVP of the game was Brynn Bradac for Kirtland who put up 15 points.
