Hudson, Ohio - The fourth game of the Hudson Holiday Classic on Thursday featured the Streetsboro Rockets and Twinsburg Tigers. On the season the Rockets were 2-6 while Twinsburg was 5-2.
Winning the tip was Streetsboro and Colby Benjamin made the first shot, a layup inside. Josh Lee made a triple on the other end for Twinsburg taking the lead.
Lee made two more 3-pointers, taking the lead yet again. The score at the end of the first quarter was 9-8 in favor of Twinsburg. Lee had scored all of the Tiger’s points.
To start the second quarter Streetsboro got a five second violation giving the ball back to Twinsburg. Jayden Patton scored on a layup, then another in transition after a steal.
Bell hit another 3-pointer, catching fire from deep. Charles Ivory also hit a 3-pointer, taking the lead for Streetsboro. Jack Batten also cashed in from deep for Streetsboro, extending their lead to 23-21 at the half.
To start the third, Brennan Hopp intercepted a pass and scored a layup in transition for Twinsburg. Ivory responded by making a 3-pointer for the Rockets, starting the new half off strong. Batten also hit a 3-pointer, maintaining Streetsboro’s lead.
Twinsburg came back to take the lead with a huge third quarter and Adam Williams accentuated the lead with a steal and a fast break layup. The score at the end of the third was 45-29 in favor of the Tigers who outscored Streetsboro 24-6.
To start the fourth quarter, Ivory hit a spin-move layup inside, but his team was still down substantially. Twinsburg kept scoring, keeping the pressure up and Streetsboro couldn’t keep up. Twinsburg came out on top 59-40. Adam Williams was the top scorer for the Tigers with 14 points.
