University School Preppers take down the Berea-Midpark Titans in a 77-72 thriller

Barberton, OH - The Berea-Midpark Titans took on the University School Preppers in game 2 of the Greynolds Classic in Barberton.

To start the game the Titans got off to a hot start as guard Matt Sensel was able to put up 4 unanswered points and Mason Zahursky was able to put up 12 points by making 4 three pointers in a row.

However, the Preppers had other plans and dominated the first quarter putting up 27 points taking a 27-18 lead to end the 1st.

Entering the 2nd quarter the Titans needed to put up points, and they scored 19 points in this quarter alone and played great defense.

University School was only able to put up 10 points this quarter and their lead was officially gone as the teams went into halftime tied 37-37.

Coming into the 2nd half, both teams were looking to take the lead, and the Preppers got off to a hot start, putting up 4 unanswered points.

Both teams were heating up and playing almost identically putting up nearly the same amount of points, but the Preppers took the lead 56-54 after three.

In the 4th the Preppers were able to put up 21 points keeping their offense rolling.

The Titans were playing catch-up in this quarter, but were only able to put up 18 points, which wasn't enough as University took home the win 77-72 after a tightly contested final three quarters.

The Titans player of the game was Matt Sensel who put up 20 points and was an integral part of their electric offense.

The Preppers player of the game was Justin Belcher putting up 31 points and being the key piece to University's high powered offense.

I talked with Justin Belcher and Preppers coach Sean McDonnell after the game.
