At Sum Point, Rent For Cheryl, and People in the Daytime played at the Musica in Akron the day before Thanksgiving. I got the chance to watch At Sum Point's set and interview them afterwards.
I'd seen At Sum Point play once before and it was a really good experience. This was their first real set and it went amazingly. The song choices were a mix of covers I had heard them play before, (Dazey and the Scouts, Brave Little Abacus) and some new originals that I had not heard them play before. My personal favorites from the set were the two originals, 'Gone into Excuses', and 'Untitled'. I also really enjoyed their cover of The Blah Blah Blahs by Brave Little Abacus.
Another thing I would like to compliment, is how well they implement uncommon instruments into their songs, like the trombone. It really gives the songs another dimension to them. Another positive is the way that all the songs sounded different and unique from each other which is refreshing to hear from anybody, let alone a band that is still up and coming. To sum it all up, they put on an incredible performance and I'm excited to see what's to come from them in the future!
