Cleveland Guardians weekly minor league report continues with the week of 4/18 to 4/24.



Lynchburg Hillcats (Low A)


The Hillcats sit at 7-8 in 3rd place in the Carolina League North Division. They have rattled off four wins in a row averaging 14 runs per game in that span. This past week saw some big individual games by their catchers Richard Paz, Victor Planchart and Joe Donovan. Let's take a look at the top performers through 15 games.

Highlights of the Week: Richard Paz goes 4/5 with 3 singles, a double and 4 RBI's at Carolina on 4/22.


Will "lil Kershaw" Dion throws 4 hitless innings with no walks and six strikeouts at Carolina on 4/21.



Lake County Captains (High A)


The Captains are off to a 7-8 start. They currently sit in third place in the Midwest League East Division. They won their last two games at Great Lakes to split the 6-game series. Jhonkensy Noel has gotten hot hitting three HR's in the last two games. Guardians 2021 top pick Gavin Williams had another solid start touching triple digits once again. Here are the top performers through 15 games.

Akron Rubberducks (AA)


Common theme...like Lynchburg and Lake County the Rubberducks are also off to a 7-8 start. They are in 5th place in the Eastern league Southwest Division. After losing four straight Akron has won the last two. While scoring runs has been an issue for Akron early this season, the pitching has been fun to watch especially Daniel Espino, Logan T. Allen and Tanner Burns along with some elite bullpen outings. Here are the Ducks top performers through 15 games.

Highlight of the week: Daniel Espino strikes out 14 batters in 5 innings including the first 11 straight at Bowie on 4/22. He touched triple digits at least 10 times in his 5 IP.



Columbus Clippers (AAA)


The Clippers are off to a good start at 12-6 which is good for 2nd place in the International League West Division. They lead their division with 106 runs scored to this point. After winning 9 straight they dropped three of the last five games at Indianapolis. Power has been driving the Clippers offense as they have hit 27 HR's good for 3rd in the league. Here are their top performers through 18 games.
