Huskies swept in home opener vs. Vikings

Middlefield OH- On Tuesday evening the Cardinal Huskies (0-2) hosted their home opener against the LaBrae Vikings (2-0)

LaBrae would serve and score first and before the Huskies knew it they were quickly looking at a 5-0 deficit. A hit from Carissa Loucks would get the Huskies on the board down 7-1. The Vikings began to pull-away and would run away with set one by a score of 25-19. An illegal hit put Cardinal in front to start set two. With the score tied at 6 Riley Rowe's spike thrusted the Vikings into the lead. From that point on LaBrae would cruise to a set 2 victory backed by a 18-5 run, winning the set 25-11. The Huskies were in need of a good start in set 3 to keep the match going. Rylee McDonough came through with a bigtime block on a spike attempt that tied the game at 5.
