Judge Sue Robinson set a deadline of July 12 for the submission of written materials from both parties involved in this case, so she could go over the material presented and give the ruling she feels is appropriate. Reports this morning state that Robinson has set the suspension at 6 games. As of Sunday night, all but one of the 24 remaining civil cases had been settled according to attorney Tony Buzbee. It remains to be seen if the NFL will appeal the decision.
If the suspension holds, Watson will miss the following first 6 games on the Browns schedule: at Carolina, vs NY Jets, vs Pittsburgh, at Atlanta, vs LA Chargers and vs New England. He would return Week 7 for a big divisional game at Baltimore. Jacoby Brissett will fill in as the starter while Watson serves his six games.
