Throughout history, there have always been a group of wrestlers who have joined forces and went on to dominate their competition and prove that they are a force within their respective company. Some have been legendary, and others not so much. Some stables have been enshrined in Hall of Fame’s, and some we have simply forgotten over time.
Stables have played a massive role in professional wrestling for quite some time. If you grew up watching wrestling in the 80’s and 90’s, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Some of the greatest stables of all time came from those eras, such as The Four Horsemen, The Fabulous Freebirds, Nation of Domination, The Raven’s flock, The Hart Foundation, DX and the legendary nWo.
When you look back at all of the great stables that have left their mark in wrestling history, what do you notice? How many of those stables had members that were female? How many of those stables were entirely made up of females? Not very many. Chyna being a member of DX is certainly one of the first that come to mind or Miss Elizabeth in the nWo.
Certainly, there have been many female stables that have come and gone over the years. Some of the most notable include The Four Horsewomen, The Riott Squad, The Beautiful Fierce Females, and TNA’s The Beautiful people. AEW has something brewing with Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet joining forces, which could be successful if booked properly. NXT’s Toxic Attraction is arguably the most successful of the current female stables. Mandy Rose is the NXT Women’s Champion and Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne currently hold the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.
I feel wrestling needs more. Women’s wrestling right now is the best it’s ever been. The amount of talent throughout wrestling today is simply incredible. Although women’s wrestling is not where we want it to be yet, it has come a long way. There are countless females today that are main eventing shows and Pay-Per-Views of their respective companies and deserve it. The best part is that it’s only going to get better from here.
Wrestling is ready for a female stable with the energy and dominance similar to the nWo or Evolution. To come in wreak havoc, take what’s theirs and demand respect. A group of some of the best in the game to come together and change the landscape of women’s wrestling forever.
